Rifle - Dry Practice
a way to train without using ammo.
~80% of shooting skills can come from dry practice (aka: dry firing).
Purpose? An introduction to dry practice. Next range day, others will notice your competence.
Prerequisites: If you can, you should become familiar with your weapon at home.
Topics to be covered:
- Dry Practice – what and how?
- Proper handling
- Components & operation of a modern rifle
- How to: “load” and unload rifle
- How to: aim and “shoot” accurately
What to bring*:
- NO AMMUNITION
- AR-15 rifle
- At least 1 magazine
- Magazine carrier (optional)
- Appropriate footwear and clothing.
- Water and snacks

Prerequisites: Safe manipulation of your weapon shall be 2nd nature and done with competence.
Topics to be covered:
- Proper handling review
- Sight picture & ready-ups
- Reloading & clearing malfunctions
- Speed vs Accuracy (yes, even in dry fire)
- Moving & “shooting” introduction
What to bring*:
- NO AMMUNITION
- AR-15 rifle
- At least 2 magazines
- Magazine carrier (recommended)
- Appropriate footwear and clothing.
- Water and snacks

- Moving while reloading
