About the Instructor
Welcome! My name is Dezert Sky.
I’m called to follow my passion for teaching and helping others become capable with life saving tools.
Seeing students strengthen their firearm skills and grow in their God-given duty to defend and protect innocent life is a great joy.
Remember, shooting is just shooting. It is simply another skill that anyone of any background can get good at. If I can do it, then you can do it – regardless of your background. The question is: when will you do it?

My wife & I trained with Dezert Sky a couple weeks ago and we really enjoyed it.
We're new to firearms & have never taken a shooting class before, but I can't imagine it could be nearly as good as having a private lesson here. I've been practicing the techniques I learned since then and I can definitely see an improvement in my grip & aim. I still have a way to go, but my low & left shots have all but disappeared due to his instruction and my dry-fire practicing.

Dezert assessed my skill level and tailored the training accordingly. The best part is that he ran the drills with me instead of waiving around a blue training gun like other teachers. The drills were challenging and informative. Each drill was explained so that I could understand them without being pressured to hurry up. He encouraged me to excel at each drill instead of ignoring when I was not quite up to par. I have taken many classes over the years and this was one of the most informative I have taken. He gave me a sticker at the end which was the cherry on top. Highly recommend!
The class I took was great! The instructor is extremely careful and taught us proper safety precautions before starting. I now feel more comfortable with handling a gun and had a lot of fun while learning!!
I recently took a pistol class with Dezert and had a great time. My favorite part was shooting while moving! The demonstrations, teaching points, and environment felt professional, complimentary, and safe. He also helped me find the ideal holster for my sidearm several days before the class.

Dezert was a great instructor. He was patient and thoughtful in how he walked us through step by step from the very beginning to learning how to shoot ‘again'. While we both have shot guns before, it has been decades and I would for sure classify us as beginners or newbies. I’ve owned guns for some time but for sure it did not mean I was as comfortable as I/we should be. Dezert’s instruction and training approach for sure further increased our comfort level and I would say is a must have for anyone who wants to learn how to shoot and a for sure if you own a firearm.
